H&A Cutting Works Limited

2005 began on a very sad note for H&A Cutting Works with the loss of its Managing Director Erwin Hellemans and his beloved wife Sabrina Van Rompay.

However, as a direct result of Erwin's management skills and team leadership, H&A has been able to overcome this tragedy and production continues with 95% of total output as Triple Excellent Ideal cut diamonds and with over 98% of all stones exported from the factory having the Hearts & Arrows pattern. The company is currently being managed by Hugh Van Es, a Belgian national who has lived and worked in Thailand for almost 20 years.

Following on from our Quality Management Systems ISO9001:2000 certification in October 2004, (becoming only the second Diamond Manufacturer in Thailand to achieve this), in April 2005 we obtained the Social Accountability SA8000 certificate. H&A is the first diamond manufacturer in the world who has obtained this standard and applied it to its operations.
